UW-Platteville transfers its herbarium of >7000 sheets to WIS

The Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has asked the Wisconsin State Herbarium to take ownership of its collection of >7000 vascular plants.  Many of their specimens were collected in the Driftless Area, and represent unique collections for the state.  There are also a large number of sheets from the western USA and Central America, including many of D.B.Dunn’s collections made with the former curator, Chester Dziekanowski.  Some 4,105 UW-Platteville specimens (all from Wisconsin) had already been databased for the WisFlora project.
